I absolutely loved this hotel - the central courtyard was filled with birdsong and a true escape from the noisy city outside. We ate at the restaurant twice and it felt like private dining. We felt like royalty, and were treated by every staff member with nothing but kindness and genuine desire to make our stay amazing.

Book a first-thing slot at Musée Dar El Bacha nextdoor, partly for the incredible tiling but mostly for its famous coffee house! Then come back for mint tea in the courtyard when the Medina is at its loudest and hottest.

Set on Dar El Bacha in the Medina, it’s walkable to the souks and Jemaa el-Fna, but tucked just far enough back to feel protected from the churn. You’ll still be in the old city’s maze, yet close to one of the easier entry points, which makes taxis and day trips less of a logistical grind.

You’re in a food-rich pocket of the Medina, with plenty within a 5 to 10 minute walk, but the best tables can still require a little planning.
What Is Nearby to Palais Dar Donab?
Getting there: You’re in the Medina, near Bab Doukkala, at 53 Rue Dar El Bacha. From Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), the smooth move is a taxi or pre-booked transfer to the Bab Doukkala side, then you’ll do the last stretch on foot (Medina lanes aren’t car-friendly). Getting around: Plan to explore on foot once you’re inside the walls, that’s the whole point here. For anything further out, step back to the gate area and pick up a petit taxi. What’s nearby: You’re about a 10-minute walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa and just a few minutes from Le Jardin Secret, which means your days can be very “wander, snack, detour, repeat” without needing a route map.
