For something different: Walk the Greenway del Lago. This path winds through ancient hamlets and past "hidden" villa gardens not visible from the water. Stop in the village of Sala Comacina for a glass of Franciacorta overlooking the lake. One of my favourite memories is going for an exploratoy walk/run in the hills surrounding the lake, and coming across a tiny village with old Italian Nonna's hanging out their washing and chatting amongst themselves as we passed by.
